My Experience:
I am part of a GED Preparation program in Camden County New Jersey. As part of this program, I have taught Pre-Algebra and Algebra for the last 8 years. For part of that time I also served and the Program Coordinator, under the Director, and worked with registering, testing, scheduling, and monitoring the students in our program.
I have worked as a math tutor in Moorestown, New Jersey where I worked with students grades 6-12 on Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, and Geometry. I also helped these students prepare for entrance tests such as SSAT, ISEE, SAT, and ACT. Lastly, I taught classes on Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus as fast paced summer courses that gave the attending students High School Credit.
I held a full time math teaching position at a Delaware Charter School. While there, I was successful in educating my students and instilling in them a respect for Math and learning. Since beginning at the school, I have offered after-school tutoring services to my students in order to help them gain a stronger understanding of math. I also coached the 8th grade Math League Team. Both of these activities allowed me to get to know my student’s strengths, weaknesses, and personalities which in turn helped me become a more effective teacher.
Before teaching full time, I worked as a substitute teacher for 2 years and a private math tutor for 9 years. During my time tutoring, I was able to successfully help students improve and develop their abilities in mathematics. I tutored students in math ranging from 1st grade through college level Pre-Calculus, as well as SAT and ACT Math preparation.
I am experienced in tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, various College courses, GED help, SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, and Math Praxis.
